The FCPS-II Gynaecology & Obstetrics Extended TOACS (Task-Oriented Assessment of Clinical Skills) is the final stage for candidates pursuing fellowship under the College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP).

Exam Format

1. CLINICAL

Long Case Obstetrics
Long Case Gynaecology
60 minutes for each case (120 minutes total)
(30 minutes for history-taking and clinical examination 30 minutes for discussion)

2. TOACS

4-8 minutes per station
(15 to 18 stations)
Observed / Interactive

What does the Extended TOACS exam include?

It includes:

Two Long Cases (one obstetrics, one gynaecology)
15–18 TOACS stations assessing clinical and communication skills

Are actors or real patients used in TOACS stations?

Both may be used:

Simulated patients (trained actors)
Real patients (for examination stations)

Can I ask questions during TOACS stations?

Yes, but only within the scope of the station. You must follow station instructions strictly and manage time efficiently.

What is the passing criteria for the Extended TOACS exam?

Each component (Long Cases + TOACS) is scored out of 10 marks.
Minimum 6/10 in each, with an aggregate of 18/30 (60%) required to pass.

How soon are results announced after the written exam?

Results are usually posted on the CPSP e-portal within 4–6 weeks after the exam.
